St Hilda’s Orientation Week is called Welcome Week and is designed to be inclusive and life-affirming with a strong sense of student safety and belonging. We welcome you on Move in Saturday, where senior students will help you move your stuff and the College formally makes you a member. On Sunday, you will spend the day with our residential tutors, review your academic program, and explore the university. Throughout the week, you’ll get tips on how to balance life, look after yourself and develop respectful relationships. It’s a fun time to meet people, get to know your way around and become familiar with the academic and administrative requirements of University.
Orientation happens at a point in time, whereas transition is more of an adjustment process. That’s something we understand pretty well here at St Hilda’s, and why we’ll connect you with transition leaders and academic mentors to guide you through first year.
On top of that you can tap into peer support, pastoral care and get involved in a bunch of activities – all of which help you to discover that St Hilda’s is the place where you belong.
St Hilda's College is a living community and residential college on campus at the University of Melbourne.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Wurrundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Owners of the land upon which our college is situated. We pay our respect to all the Elders of Indigenous students who call St Hilda’s home. We also acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of our community, the University of Melbourne, and the wider world.
