On Friday, 17 May, Lucy Burbury and the St Hilda’s College Communitas Committee hosted the ‘Les Misérables MS Fundraiser’. The evening was a huge success and included highlights from the acclaimed musical, Les Misérables, performed by singers and musicians from St Hilda’s College and The University of Melbourne.
Commencing with drinks and canapés in the Junior Common Room, it was a full house, with guests then filling the Auditorium to watch the talented performers. All ticket proceeds and contributions from the evening were donated to MS Australia, in memory of Lucy’s uncle, Alec Burbury (1962-1995).
It was wonderful to see the organisation, dedication and collaborative team work of Lucy and the Communitas Committee.
$4,600 was raised in total and St Hilda’s College would like to thank everyone who attended and supported our students. Your contributions will assist MS Australia to make a valuable difference in research and to the lives of people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.
