Basic fees

Fees are set by the College Council in November each year.
The 2020 basic annual fee is $30,700 AUD.
This covers:
  • a fully-furnished single study bedroom
  •  residency for a maximum of 39 weeks*breakfast, lunch and dinner - 7 days a week
  • IT services, including a data connection port in each room, and data is unlimited within the College’s usage policy
  • weekly tutorials for university subjects
  • pastoral and welfare support, including a first-year student mentoring program and in-house counselling services
  • laundry facilities at no additional cost
  • use of extensive academic resources in the Alice Paton Library
  • access to the gym
  • (excludes enrolment deposit of $500 and academic gown worth $50).

Additional fees

  • Enrolment fee (new students only): $740 AUD
  •  Orientation week: $830 AUD
  • Room bond: $500 AUD (refundable upon departure from college if no damages occur in the student's name)
  • Academic gown purchase: $50 AUD
  • Annual membership to the Student Club: $350 AUD

The annual fee for returning students is $31,050 AUD. This comprises the residential fee and Student Club membership.

Note: St Hilda’s College is closed from Good Friday to Easter Tuesday each year. Students who stay during this time will need to do so with the knowledge that the College is closed.
*Residents are permitted to remain in College during the mid-year winter recess.

St Hilda's College is a living community and residential college on campus at the University of Melbourne.
