Soak up the communitas spirit in St Hilda’s dedicated library space named after an inspirational founder, fundraiser and President, Lady Alice Paton.
When you need a change of scenery, the library is a welcoming study area you can access day or night.
Search and borrow through the online catalogue, or seek advice from the library assistants during scheduled hours.
If you like reading and talking about books, join the library book club. It’s a fun way to engage with literary culture and your College community. The library also stocks magazines covering a range of interests.
St Hilda’s aims to make it easy for our students to access the materials needed for study.
The Alice Paton library holds most of the required text books for residents’ university subjects, plus additional course reading materials. These resources are available for loan, which can minimise your book buying costs.
Our College collection supplements the vast material found close-by in the University libraries. It consists of books, periodicals, non-print media and a range of study aids.
St Hilda's College is a living community and residential college on campus at the University of Melbourne.
We acknowledge and pay respect to the Wurrundjeri people of the Kulin Nation, the Traditional Owners of the land upon which our college is situated. We pay our respect to all the Elders of Indigenous students who call St Hilda’s home. We also acknowledge all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members of our community, the University of Melbourne, and the wider world.
